"Women The New Ideal and World War II" Honors 2000

July 18 - 21, 2005

For the first two weeks, the students studied in class the activities of American women during the Great Depression and WW II along with the political culture and social landscape of 1932-1945 .On the third week, the class traveled to Washington DC for research, visiting various archives, museums , memorials and places relevant to the course. The highlights of the trip included tours and discussions of: The National Mall &Memorial Parks, Franklin Eleanor Roosevelt Memorial, World War II Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, Sewall Belmont House, Mary Macleod, Bethune Council House, and National Mall Sites.
